SciFi Japan`s coverage of SHIN GODZILLA`s (??????, Shin Gojira, 2016) international release continues with information, photos, poster art and a trailer courtesy of German distributor, Splendid Film GMBH. Splendid has released several of the older Godzilla films on DVD and and Blu-ray, and recently acquired the theatrical, TV, DVD-video, and VOD rights for SHIN GODZILLA in Germany and Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg). SHIN GODZILLA will debut in those territories with a limited cinema event, beginning May 3rd. Home video and Video On Demand will follow.

Story

The biggest monster in film history is back -- and it`s bigger than ever! SHIN GODZILLA is an absolute must-see and available only for a short time in cinemas. Do not miss this unique opportunity! In the bay of Tokyo, an unexpected event occurs: a section of the sea floor seems to explode out of nowhere. It quickly becomes clear that the misfortune was caused by a living organism. Then the first videos of the unknown creature appear: It is huge and moves ashore to the city. The authorities must act quickly to protect the population from this disaster. But no emergency plan in the world regulates how to deal with an unknown, gigantic monster. A member of the government is handed unpublished essays by a researcher who tried to explain the creature -- and give it a name: Godzilla! With the help of experts, the government does everything it can to defeat the monster, but the destructive power of Godzilla is growing...
