TOHO and GKIDS, the Academy Award®-winning curator, producer, and distributor that was acquired by TOHO in 2024, have released a new trailer fo GODZILLA MINUS ZERO (ゴジラ-0.0/ゴジラマイナスゼロ, Gojira Mainasu Zero). The highly anticipated film from director Takashi Yamazaki will make its world premiere as the Spotlight Gala selection for the 64th New York Film Festival on Saturday, September 26. The feature will make its theatrical debut domestically in Japan on Tuesday, November 3, and launch a wide theatrical release across North America beginning Friday, November 6. The new trailer begins with the confirmation that Godzilla was not fully destroyed, and offers a glimpse of the latest kaiju extermination operation, while debuting new and returning characters. The trailer is accompanied by a new theatrical poster that centers on Godzilla and features mysterious blue energy surrounding the monster and bright gold lightning striking from above.

In addition to the new trailer and poster, additional cast members have been revealed to be joining the production. Newly revealed in this trailer is Masami Nagasawa who joins the cast as Makoto Aoyama, a genius weather forecaster assigned to the Disaster Response Bureau. Further cast additions include Jun Kunimura, cast as Dr. Ogata, and Ko Maehara as Professor Murakami’s (Min Tanaka) assistant Akira Hagiwara. Additionally, Motosuke Iida is confirmed to reprise his role as Akio Itagaki, the Toyo Balloon section chief who made significant contributions to the Godzilla extermination operation in GODZILLA MINUS ONE. Further cast additions include Kenji Misuhashi, Eita Okuno, and Kai Inowaki. These actors join the previously announced lineup of returning and new faces

Following the triumphant 2023 release of Toho’s GODZILLA MINUS ONE, which boasted ingenious, Oscar-winning visual effects and an emotionally gripping back-to-basics storytelling approach, director Takashi Yamazaki returns with a supremely satisfying sequel. GODZILLA MINUS ZERO picks up in 1949, two years after the tumultuous events of GODZILLA MINUS ONE, and continues the story of the Shikishima family as they face an all-new calamity. An experience that demands the big screen, featuring more astounding effects choreography than its predecessor, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO cranks up the terror while always keeping its post-WWII Japan narrative at human eye level.

Shot entirely in Japan as the first-ever Japanese production to be Filmed For IMAX, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO was shot with high-definition digital cameras certified by IMAX, and optimized in sound and imagery unique to IMAX screens. The globally beloved monster returns to movie theater screens reaching greater and more terrifying heights, making GODZILLA MINUS ZERO a true cinematic event not to be missed.
