MY YOKAI VACATION (映画クレヨンしんちゃん奇々怪々! オラの妖怪バケーション, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon), opening today in Japan.
Crayon Shinchan (クレヨンしんちゃん, Kureyon Shin-chan) is a hugely popular manga that has been loved by people of all ages since its serialization began in Manga Action (漫画アクション, Manga Akushon) in 1990 and its TV anime broadcast started in 1992. Since the first theatrical film, The first movie, CRAYON SHINCHAN: ACTION MASK VS. LEOTARD DEVIL (クレヨンしんちゃん アクション仮面VSハイグレ魔王, Kureyon Shinchan: Akushon Kamen tai Haigure Maō), was released in 1993, a total of 32 2D anime films have been released to date. In CRAYON SHINCHAN THE MOVIE: SUPER HOT! THE SPICY KASUKABE DANCERS (映画クレヨンしんちゃん 超華麗！灼熱のカスカベダンサーズ, Eiga Kureyon Shinchan Chō Karei! Shakunetsu no Kasukabe Dansāzu), released in 2025, Shinchan and the Kasukabe Defense Force sing, dance, and perform a wild dance in the scorching hot country of India! It delivered laughter and emotion to all of Japan as a dance entertainment film! Now audiences will experience chills with the 33rd film in the series, CRAYON SHINCHAN THE MOVIE: SPOOKY! MY YOKAI VACATION)!
Last year, when visuals were released showing Shinnosuke gazing intently at fireworks filling the night sky and “Tengu Shinnosuke” dressed in a tengu costume, they sparked a huge buzz—especially on social media—with comments like, “I can’t wait for the release!” and “A yokai theme at last!?”
At the helm of this film is Masaki Watanabe, who has served as an animation director for the TV anime CRAYON SHINCHAN since 2022 and has been responsible for storyboarding and segment direction for the Crayon Shinchan movies since 2024. The screenplay is written by Yoshiko Nakamura, who previously wrote scripts for the TV anime. With a production team brimming with love for Crayon Shin-chan, expectations are soaring!!

STORY
One summer, the Nohara family was headed to Hiroshi's hometown in Akita Prefecture for a fireworks display and to spend a peaceful time at their grandfather Ginnosuke's house.
However, the morning after arriving in Akita, an inexplicable incident occurred!
Flyers for "Obake Village" were scattered all over the room where Shinnosuke and his family were staying. Shinnosuke, thrilled by the flyers advertising "All-you-can-eat Chocobi!", asked the Nohara family to go to "Obake Village." As they ventured deeper into the mountains, far from civilization, they found themselves lost in a strange space...
It was the entrance to the "Land of Yokai," a place forbidden to humans!
While lost in the “Land of Yokai,” Hiroshi and Misae are exposed as humans and, before they know it, have their “butt balls” stolen—transforming them into full-fledged yokai!!
Not only do Hiroshi and Misae become yokai after losing their "butt balls," but they also seem to be gradually forgetting their memories of being human...! Furthermore, if they don't retrieve their "butt balls" by the Hour of the Rat the next day, they will never be able to return to being human!
The Nohara family faces their biggest crisis ever in the "Land of Yokai"!?
Can Shinnosuke and his friends retrieve their "butt balls" and return to the human world?
