X-Plus Launches New DefoReal Series With Godzilla (2016) 4th Form Figure

The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and high-res photos of the first giant monster figure in their new DefoReal Series. While X-Plus has traditionally produced monster figures that accurately represent the characters` onscreen appearances, the DefoReal Series will be in the popular "Super Deformed" (SD) style with large heads, squat, chubby bodies and stubby limbs. The company is putting their own spin on the figures by combining the cute SD look with more realistic features. The DefoReal Series kicks off with Godzilla (2016) from the blockbuster hit SHIN GODZILLA (??????, Shin Gojira, 2016). Godzilla goes through several stages of evolution in the film, with the DefoReal figure depicting the "4th Form" seen during the King of the Monsters` raid on Tokyo. The figure features detailed sculpting for Godzilla`s face, tail, dorsal fins and teeth. The DefoReal Series Godzilla (2016) joins X-Plus` lineup of figures scheduled for release this June. In another break with tradition, X-Plus is not offering an exclusive, limited edition version on their Shounen Ric website. Instead, the figure will receive a standard “General Distribution” release through stores and online retailers, including SFJ`s sponsors Anime Jungle and Flossie`s Gifts & Collectibles.
