The comic Ultraman, which has been made into a series on the HERO’S monthly magazine (Author: Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi), will be produced in full 3DCG animation. The anime ULTRAMAN was introduced as one of the featured animations in the Anime Expo 2018 NETFLIX?ANIME panel, held in Los Angeles on July 5, 2018. Through this event, ULTRAMAN attracted attention from all over the world. After half a century from the launch of the first live-action ULTRAMAN (???????????????, Urutoraman: Kuso Tokusatsu Shirizu, 1966-67), the anime ULTRAMAN will finally step onto a new level. Make sure not to miss it! Kenji Kamiyama, known for directing GHOST IN THE SHELL: S.A.C., 009 RE:CYBORG and NAPPING PRINCESS, will team up with Shinji Aramaki, the director of APPLESEED, HARLOCK: SPACE PIRATE and STARSHIP TROOPERS: TRAITOR OF MARS, will be co-directing this series. Production I.G. and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS will work together as the production team. The main Ultraman, with a physical appearance distinct from all previous series, will be made into a 3DCG animation series by the hands of a group of globally acting extraordinary staff. First ULTRAMAN Plastic Model Announced A plastic model of the anime Ultraman will be released from Kotobukiya. The announcement on the production of the plastic model was made at the Kotobukiya booth in the Anime Expo 2018, held at Los Angeles. The plastic model is approximately 16cm tall, and is under development to incorporate various fascinating gimmicks. It will be displayed in the Kotobukiya booth at the Wonder Festival 2018, held at Makuhari Messe on Sunday, July 29.
