SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 2199: ARK OF THE STARS Update

The Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Production Committee and theatrical distributor Shochiku Co., Ltd. have released a new trailer, poster design and plot synopsis for the feature film, SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 2199: ARK OF THE STARS (???????2199 ?????, Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 Hoshi Meguru Hakobune). Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO franchise, the movie will open in Japanese cinemas on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The year 2199... Having arrived at its destination -- the planet Iscandar -- and received the Cosmo Reverse System, the crew of the Space Battleship Yamato departs the Large Magellanic Cloud. But, as the ship approaches the outer rim of the galaxy, it is interrupted by a mysterious tactical unit, the Gutaba Great Expeditionary Force. The Yamato is hailed by the fleet commander, who identifies himself as Goran Dagam of "Gatlantis" and orders the Earth ship to surrender. The Yamato attempts to escape back to Earth, but Dagam unleashes a vicious onslaught with Gatlantis` latest weapon, the Flame Impact Gun, a beam weapon capable of transcending space. The Yamato warps from the battle in the nick of time, but the crew now find themselves in a pale void of unknown space. The ship`s rudder turns as if with a will of its own, and the Yamato is drawn towards a mysterious planet. Susumu Kodai, Mikage Kiryu, Sho Sawamura, Kaoru Niimi and five members of Yoshikazu Aihara`s team make a reconnaissance mission to the planet and discover an ancient warship that should not be there. Dagam pursues the Yamato into the pale space, and he realizes that treasure he has sought now lies on the shining planet before his eyes. The Gatlantis force heads for this world to destroy the Yamato.
