Create Fun Animated Shorts of the World`s Most Famous Monster Source: SKIT! Official Site: skitapp.com/godzilla Special Thanks to Curt Blakeney SKIT!, the smart phone and tablet app that creates fun animated shorts, is going toe to claw with Godzilla, the legendary mutated reptile. On September 16th, Warner Bros. released the Blu-ray version of the blockbuster 2014 movie GODZILLA and also released the movie’s skitable assets -- including Godzilla, backgrounds, props fx, and more -- for the community to create with via the SKIT! story app.

It’s a pairing of exciting contradictions: SKIT! is the popular app that lets members express their individuality, creativity and imagination, while Godzilla is the global symbol of destruction and chaos. “This really is a case of opposites attract, a merger that brings together a destructive force of nature with some of the most creative people on the planet,” said SKIT! Co-founder, Robin Johnson. “Showcasing Godzilla’s powers of destruction and chaos should make for some epic fun. But I also challenge SKIT! members to think outside the box and design skits with Godzilla that are funny, clever, sarcastic and silly. There really are no limits to what a SKIT! member can do with a radiation-gobbling alpha predator.” The Godzilla movie assets will bring a whole new level of interaction and creative options to SKIT! members, whose arsenal of tools has been growing exponentially. Earlier this month, SKIT! announced the ability of users to incorporate their favorite animated GIFs into their creative skit ideas. And this past June, SKIT! and Warner Bros. released THE LEGO MOVIE characters, backgrounds and props including — Emmet, Batman, Wyldstyle, Unikitty, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Wild West, Bob’s Kabob Truck, and dozens more — which proved to be an instant hit with SKIT! members. With protected pathways for both kids and adults, SKIT! is great for all ages and groups, for individual or group play. It’s free to download and use, available on iPhone, iPad, Android and Kindle. Download SKIT! on a tablet or smartphone device through the iTunes App Store, Google Play, or Amazon. After choosing images, backgrounds and special effects, the user narrates and creates an animated skit, and then shares with friends and family on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and through text messaging, as well with the whole SKIT! community. About SKIT!

With teams in Santa Monica and Boston, the founders of SKIT! created an animated messaging app to help spur people’s creativity and to build a place that redefines storytelling, making content creation fun, collaborative, and constructive for all ages. On the iOS for iPhone and iPad, Android for smartphone and tablets and Kindle platforms, SKIT! reaches users of all ages on nearly device they might be using and helps them have fun expressing themselves. SKIT! started when co-founders Max Woon and Robin Johnson met in front of a whiteboard in Santa Monica, California in late 2012 and began Storytime Studios. Together, they created the SKIT! collaborative storytelling platform, which was then accelerated by both TechStars and Warner Bros. Media Camp and launched its Beta July 2013 at Comic-Con. About us

Welcome to SciFi Japan, your source for news and information on science fiction, horror, fantasy and action movies, TV shows and videos.. from classics and old favorites, to upcoming productions and home video releases, to the odd and obscure titles you may never have heard of!

The mainstream press has largely ignored Japanese tokusatsu (special effects) films, and when the genre has been covered by American news outlets and television the results were often inaccurate and condescending. On the other hand, there have been some excellent fan publications and websites devoted to these films, but Japanese studios have been extremely reluctant to deal with fan groups due to concerns over copyright infringement issues (some fans advocate and promote activities such as video bootlegging and unlicensed downloading). With no direct access to studio news and photos, fan reporting has often been forced to rely on secondhand info and rumors.

What was missing was a professionally run English news outlet working directly with Japanese studios and filmmakers. So, in 2006, we brought together a talented group of published authors and reporters, film historians, reviewers, festival organizers, and movie makers with ties to the Japanese film industry to launch SciFi Japan (More information on our key contributors can be found here). The only English language news site press registered with all of the major Japanese studios and production companies, SciFi Japan is able to consistently bring accurate and exclusive information on Japanese films and shows to English speaking/reading fans worldwide.

This site also receives updates from licensees and distributors of Japanese movies in North America, the UK and Australia, and we’re press registered with the major American studios as well. So, while our primary focus remains Japanese llive action and anime news we will rinclude international productions in our "International SciFii" and. "Asian Cinema" sections.

And in 2012, we launched SciFi JAPAN TV, a web series featuring coverage of tokusatsu events and interviews with Japanese filmmakers. Each episode was shot on location in Japan exclusively for SciFi Japan by the Gaijin Channel production team.

SciFi Japan has grown by leaps and bounds over these past few years, and the site will continue to improve. So please bookmark SFJ and check back with us frequently… we’ll do our best to make it worth the effort!
