Shin Godzilla 25cm Figure from X-Plus in December

A SCIFI JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

The Japanese toy company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and high-res photos of their upcoming Godzilla figure based on the new film, SHIN GODZILLA (??????, Shin Gojira, 2016). Inspired by the international success of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures` GODZILLA (2014), Toho decided to produce and release the first new Japanese Godzilla film since 2004`s GODZILLA: FINAL WARS (??? ?????????, Gojira Fainaru Uozu). The new movie opened in Japan this past July. It was a massive hit at the box office, becoming the top live action Japanese film of the year. SHIN GODZILLA has also had the widest international release of any Toho Godzilla movie in decades, including a limited run in US theaters. X-Plus now brings this latest incarnation of the King of the Monsters to their 25cm figure line. The standard "General Distribution" version features Godzilla with a closed mouth, plus red highlights along the figure`s the neck, torso and tail. The standard version will be available from stores and online retailers including SFJ`s sponsors Anime Jungle and Flossie`s Gifts & Collectibles. X-Plus` official Shounen Ric website is offering an exclusive version of Shin Godzilla with both the standard closed mouth head plus a bonus, interchangeable roar head not available from other retailers. The roar head is sculpted in the wide, open mouth position displayed when Godzilla fires his radioactive breath in the movie. The interior of the mouth, neck, chest and tail are painted in purple highlights, with the eyes colored to replicate the silvery nictitating membrane that slide into place as the monster prepares to attack. The Shin Godzilla figure is scheduled for release in late December 2016. Recommended for fans and collectors ages 15 years and older.
