PROMARE is is an original story that marks the long-awaited collaboration between director Hiroyuki Imaishi (GURREN LAGANN, KILL la KILL) and screenwriter Kazuki Nakajima. The project was conceived in 2013 and publicly announced at the 2017 Anime Expo, the biggest anime event in North America. The creative team includes character designer Shigeto Koyama (REBUILD OF EVANGELION series, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM UC), composer Hiroyuki Sawano (BLUE EXORCIST, ATTACK ON TITAN), art director Tomotaka Kubo (MARY AND THE WITCH`S FLOWER) and logo designer Masashi Ichifuru (REBUILD OF EVANGELION series). PROMARE will open nationwide in Japan on May 24 through Toho Visual Entertainment and Toho`s ODS (Other Digital Stuff) distribution division. STORY Thirty years has passed since the appearance of Burnish, a race of flame-wielding mutant beings, who destroyed half of the world with fire. When a new group of aggressive mutants calling themselves “Mad Burnish” appears, the epic battle between Galo Thymos, a new member of the anti-Burnish rescue team “Burning Rescue,” and Lio Fotia, the leader of “Mad Burnish” begins.
