この度、第64回ニューヨーク映画祭「スポットライト・ガラ部門」選出作品として、『ゴジラ-0.0』の世界最速プレミア上映が決定いたしました！

The New York Film Festival (NYFF), hosted by Film at Lincoln Center, is an annual celebration of the year's most significantinternational films. Since its founding in 1963, it has played a crucial role in shaping film culture, supporting bold and outstanding works by masters and emerging creators from around the world.

This year, GODZILLA MINUS ZERO has been selected for the Spotlight Gala section, a special screening category that showcases the year's most talked-about films and highly anticipated premieres.

This marks the first time in the long history of the “Godzilla” series that a film has been selected for this festival—a historic achievement. Furthermore, Director Yamazaki will be attending the festival in person! This will be his first appearance at the festival.

 

フィルム・アット・リンカーン・センターが主催するニューヨーク映画祭（NYFF）は、その年の最も重要な国際映画を称える毎年恒例の祭典です。1963年の創設以来、映画文化の形成において極めて重要な役割を果たしており、世界中の巨匠や新進気鋭のクリエイターによる大胆で優れた作品を支援し続けてきました。

今回『ゴジラ-0.0』が選出された【スポットライト・ガラ部門】は、その年の話題作や注目のプレミア作品を華やかに披露する特別上映枠。

長い歴史を誇る「ゴジラ」シリーズにおいて、同映画祭への選出は 史上初となる快挙となります。さらに、山崎監督の現地参加が決定！監督の同映画祭への登壇は今回が初となります。

 

Following its release in Japan, the film is set to premiere in numerous other countries around the world!

日本での公開を皮切りに、世界各地での公開も続々と決定！

The film is set to open in Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines on Wednesday, November 4; in Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei on Thursday, November 5; and in Taiwan and Vietnam on Friday, November 6. Additionally, releases are scheduled for Hong Kong, Macau, India, and the Middle East starting in November.

11月4日（水）にタイ、ラオス、インドネシア、フィリピン、11月5日（木）にシンガポール、マレーシア、ブルネイ、11月6日（金）に台湾、ベトナムでの公開が決定。更に、香港・マカオ・インド・中東地域などでも11月以降に公開予定となっています。

World Premiere of Takashi Yamazaki’s GODZILLA MINUS ZERO Is 64th New York Film Festival Spotlight Gala

 

Film at Lincoln Center announces the world premiere of Takashi Yamazaki’s GODZILLA MINUS ZERO as the Spotlight Gala selection for the 64th New York Film Festival. At the premiere presentation at Alice Tully Hall on September 26, Yamazaki and members of the cast and crew will be in attendance. Presented by Film at Lincoln Center in partnership with Rolex, the 64th New York Film Festival will take place from September 25 through October 12.

After GODZILLA MINUS ONE's triumphant reimagination of the timeless Godzilla franchise in 2023, with its ingenious, Oscar-winning visual effects and emotionally gripping back-to-basics storytelling approach, director Takashi Yamazaki returns with a supremely satisfying sequel. Born in Matsumoto City in 1964, Takashi Yamazaki is a filmmaker and visual effects supervisor, considered one of Japan’s leading film directors. He became the first director since Stanley Kubrick to win an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for GODZILLA MINUS ONE, which is currently the third highest grossing live action foreign-language film in U.S. box office history. The film won eight Japan Academy Prizes, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. Yamazaki credits childhood viewings of STAR WARS and CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND with influencing his career in special effects. After graduating from Asagaya College of Art and Design, he joined VFX house Shirogumi Inc. in 1986, working on SFX and digital compositing in films directed by Juzo Itami. He made his debut as a director with JUVENILE(2000) and became a leading figure in visual expression and VFX in Japan. His film ALWAYS: SUNSET ON THIRD STREET(2005) won 12 awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, at the 29th Japan Academy Film Awards, and his films THE ETERNAL ZERO (2013) and STAND BY ME DORAEMON (2014) won Best Picture and eight other Japan Academy Prizes.
