The Japanese collectibles company X-Plus Co., Ltd. has provided SciFi Japan with information and large photos of their Godzilla 1999 "Poster Image" figure.

TM & © TOHO CO., LTD.Four years after GODZILLA VS DESTOROYAH (???vs??????, Gojira Tai Desutoroia, 1995) brought a temporary end to the Godzilla series, the King of the Monsters returned to Japan with GODZILLA 2000 (???2000 ?????, Gojira Nisen: Mireniamu, 1999). The film introduced a new design for Godzilla, highlighted by massive, jagged purple dorsal fins. X-Plus first released their Toho 30cm Series: GODZILLA 2000 Godzilla (1999 Edition) /??30cm????????2000 ??????????1999?) figure in November 2013, with an American edition coming from X-Plus USA and Diamond Comic Distributors this March. Now, in collaboration with Bandai, X-Plus will release a new light-up, color variation. The new Poster Image Version is painted to resemble the Japanese theatrical poster for GODZILLA 2000, which depicted Godzilla standing in a sea of flames in the heart of Shinjuku. Godzilla`s fins are molded in translucent red vinyl, with a light-up feature which requires four AAA batteries (sold separately). The jaws of the figure can be opened and closed. Two interchangeable tails are also included. The Godzilla 1999 Poster Image figure is sold exclusively by the Premium Bandai website and X-Plus` Shounen Ric site, and will not be available from retail stores.
