The screening will take place 8:00 pm at Japan Society (333 East 47th Street - Lila Acheson Wallace Auditorium, New York, NY 10017). Co-directed by Shinji Higuchi (SINKING OF JAPAN, Gamera trilogy) and Isshin Inudo (ZERO FOCUS), THE FLOATING CASTLE is based on Ryo Wadas novel of the same name, which has sold more than 1.3 million copies since 2007. In the year 1590, the mighty warlord Hideyoshi Toyotomi (Masachika Ichimura) is close to fulfilling his ambition of unifying all of Japan under his banner when he comes across unexpected resistance in the form of a floating fortress known as Oshi Castle. Nagachika Narita (Mansai Nomura), a frivolous hedonistic fellow and unlikely candidate for the position of rebel general, finds himself in charge of defending the castle. His odds? An army of 500 men to combat Hideyoshi Toyotomis army of 20,000.
