OSOMATSU THE MOVIE: THE HUMAN SCUMIFICATION PROJECT!!!!!? (映画『おそ松さん 人類クズ化計画!!!!!?』, Eiga “Osomatsu-san Jinrui Kuzu-ka Keikaku!!!!!?”), which opens in Japanese cinemas on Friday, June12th.
Introduction
Created by Fujio Akatsuka, the hit comedy manga series Osomatsu-kun (おそ松くん ) ran in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday from April 15, 1962 to January 15, 1969. The manga featured a set of sextuplet boys, the Matsuno brothers, with Osomatsu being the oldest and leader of the group, who repeatedly got into all kinds of trouble.
In 2015, the new anime adaptation MR. OSOMATSU (おそ松さん, Osomatsu-san) was produced to celebrate Akatsuka's 80th birthday. The series presented the six brothers as adults who, despite being well past the age of 20, remained good-for-nothing NEETs (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) yet somehow possessed a certain lovable charm.
The anime captivated audiences with its anything-goes, unpredictable storylines, quickly becoming a social phenomenon. A total of four seasons have aired through 2025, all of which are streaming in North America on Crunchyroll.
The popularity of MR. OSOMATSU extended far beyond the TV anime series, leading to anime feature films, "2.5D" stage adaptations, merchandising, a promotional crossover with Ultraman, and—in 2022—a live-action movie starring the idol group Snow Man as the Matsuno brothers.
Now, as the TV anime series celebrates its 10th anniversary, MR. OSOMATSU will return to the big screen with a second live-action feature film!
Starring in this second live-action installment are four members of the currently surging idol group Ae! group (Aぇ! group)—Yoshinori Masakado, Seiya Suezawa, Ken Kojima, and Masaya Sano plus former member Keita Richard Kusama. Joining them is their junior colleague from the Kansai Juniors, Takuya Nishimura. Together, these six actors deliver spirited performances as the good-for-nothing, NEET sextuplets. With all six lead actors hailing from the Kansai region, this new iteration of MR. OSOMATSU—brought to life by a fresh cast and crew—promises to retain the series' signature chaotic worldview while infusing it with a distinct, Kansai-style comedic sensibility.

Story
The six Matsuno brothers — Osomatsu, Karamatsu, Choromatsu, Ichimatsu, Jyushimatsu, and Todomatsu — are well past the age of twenty yet hold no steady jobs. They are worthless, freeloading bums—virgins and total NEETs.
Despite their parents' futile wish that they would "at least become normal adults," the sextuplets continue to live their usual, trashy daily lives. However, one day, the reactions of those around them undergo a sudden, drastic shift; their very worthlessness begins to be praised.
This phenomenon is the result of the "Human Degeneration Project"— a scheme orchestrated by Professor Kozaka Isara, a scientist involved in research related to "Human Scummification". Isara wants to completely rewrite human values, replacing them with a new creed: "The bigger the bum, the more magnificent they are!"
The six brothers are approached by Sakura, the beautiful daughter and assistant of Professor Shirokanedai, a well-known researcher working on a project for world peace. She asks for their help to thwart Isara's vile agenda.
The future of the world has — against all odds — been entrusted to *these* six brothers...!? What, then, will be humanity's fate!?
