GKIDS, the Academy Award-winning producer and distributor of acclaimed and artist-driven animation from around the world, announced it will bring a new 4K remaster of YOUR NAME. (君の名は。Kimi no Na wa., 2016) to North American theatres nationwide beginning August 14th in both its original Japanese language and English dub, with tickets on sale later this month. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the globally beloved film from acclaimed director Makoto Shinkai, GKIDS also revealed new key art at its 2026 Anime Expo industry panel.
Last month, GKIDS announced it will release brand new issues of 4K Ultra HD Steelbook and Blu-Ray, available for pre-order now, and will hit shelves on August 25th with distribution by Shout! Studios, a Radial Entertainment Company. This release marks the first-ever 4K Ultra HD product of the film in North America.
The 2016 feature is an original anime film, directed and written by Makoto Shinkai (SUZUME, WEATHERING WITH YOU) and animated by CoMix Wave Films.
