Special Thanks to Adrian Figueroa

GKIDS, the Academy Award-winning producer and distributor of acclaimed and artist-driven animation, recently released new home video editions of PERFECT BLUE and DAN DA DAN Season 2, making an excellent gift for any collector during the Halloween season!

PERFECT BLUE (パーフェクトブルー, Pāfekuto Burū, 1997) is the debut feature from the legendary director Satoshi Kon (PAPRIKA, MILLENIUM ACTRESS, TOKYO GODFATHERS). The groundbreaking feature is singular in its impact throughout the film world at large, and its influence can still be felt today. PERFECT BLUE has been hailed as one of the best animated features of all time and is only one of a handful of projects the late Satoshi Kon directed before his passing in 2010. The shocking debut feature remains relevant to this day, with a prescient vision of shattered identities formed by living in the public eye in an online world. Kon’s bold view on how technology and media can mold and distort our own perceptions of ourselves has only grown more haunting with time.

Available at the GKIDS Store, the PERFECT BLUE Limited Edition Steelbook includes bonus features such as an “Angel of Your Heart” recording session and a complete 117-minute lecture series by director Satoshi Kon. The debut film from legendary director Satoshi Kon (Paprika) has long been hailed as one of the most important animated films of all time, an intense psychological thriller for the social media era.

With production from the acclaimed animation studio Science SARU (DEVILMAN crybaby, INU-OH, SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF), the second season of the smash hit anime series DAN DA DAN (ダンダダン, 2025), is co-directed by Fuga Yamashiro, director of the first season, and longtime Science SARU veteran Abel Gongora, who directed the highly acclaimed opening theme animation of the series’ first season. DAN DA DAN is a television adaptation of author Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga of the same name, which more than doubled its circulation following the global success of animated series.

GKIDS’ DAN DA DAN Season 2 Collector's Edition features stunning packaging with bonus content such as a 76-page booklet, 3 sticker sheets, behind-the-scenes content, and more. DAN DA DAN is an electrifying, action-packed love letter to sci-fi and horror with the heart of a ruthlessly funny teen rom-com.
